Flagr Added to Loki Toolbar

The new Loki toolbar (http://www.loki.com) has added Flagr as a content channel! The software (which comes in the form of a browser toolbar) will locate your latitude and longitude, and refer you to Flagr so you can browse your area.

Our friends at Kiko.com have just sold their company on ebay...for over $250,000. Congrats! I can think of no one more deserving than the Kiko team for all the hard work they put into the company.

It's the thing that got Flagr off the ground, and it can get your web company off the ground as well. The deadline is October 18th...and the application isn't terribly difficult. Go for it.

Now there's a new and easy way to see the maps that have been recently added to. Look for that bright and shiny yellow star next to the map title. If you're lucky enough to find one, you can rest assured something's new!

In the most recent push, we've added the ability to message other Flagr users. To send a message, simply visit the users profile page and click "Send this person a message"

Give it a shot...

In other news, we've also vastly improved the way in which you can move about the world on the flag's page. Now, there is a handy "zoom to" bar atop the map. You can enter a specific city you'd like to visit or choose from a list of popular destinations.

It's a Planner! Flagr joined up with 1st Publishing to create the very first Flagr map: Map Boston, featured throughout the planner! Flagr is providing a living breathing community for planner owners to share and discuss other cool places around Boston.

If you're in the Boston area, this wonderful product can be found in most college Barnes and Noble stores, and others alike.

Plus, check out the Planner's website to see their Flagr map in action.

It's official and it's delicious - now you can group and share your flags with friends, anywhere!

What do you mean "anywhere?" Well, we mean that in two ways:

1. Share maps on any website
Maps can now me embeded on any website just like an online video. Just copy and paste the embed code into your site, blog, or profile.

2. Send flags to any map right from your phone.
Say hello to Mobile Map Codes. Every map has now a unique code, so you can send flags to specific maps from your phone. Just send the flag to [mapcode]@flagr.com instead of x@flagr.com. Pretty easy. Even better, if your phone can handle it, add maps as contacts so you don't have to remember the code.
